Fit and Sexy for Life: The Hormone-Free Plan for Staying Slim, Strong, and Fabulous in Your Forties, Fifties, and Beyond
Author: Kathy Kaehler
Until now, women forty and older haven’t had a good option for coping with menopause. For many, the choice has been between suffering unaided through weight gain, hot flashes, low libido, and mood swings or taking a chance on Hormone Replacement Therapy. But with Kathy Kaehler’s remarkable fitness-based regimen, women can feel sexy and vibrant naturally as they manage the symptoms of menopause without using any hormones whatsoever.
Fit and Sexy for Life provides daily workouts that focus on cardio and strength conditioning, and an eating plan tailored to women over the age of forty that helps control weight and boost energy, while decreasing the risk of developing heart disease, osteoporosis, and breast cancer. In addition to her hit list of foods and beverages to avoid and soothing herbs and soy products to try, Kaehler provides five-minute quick-fixes that allow you to:
• Stop a hot flash (through meditation, guided imagery, and deep breathing)
• Sleep like a baby (with a soothing, pre-bedtime yoga routine)
• Boost your libido (with a routine for feeling sexy and getting in the mood)
• Find more energy (with a blood-pumping, instant pick-me-up of a workout)
• And much more
Fit and Sexy for Life is the energizing, completely natural solution women have been searching for to help them look and feel sensational for years to come.
Beth Hill - Library Journal
Since the mid-1990s, Today Showfitness expert Kaehler has authored fitness lifestyle books, which have predominantly focused on the wellness needs of women. In her latest, she continues to offer practical, down-to-earth advice with her Fit and Sexy for Life Solution, which advocates a hormone therapy-free program for coping with menopausal changes in the body and emotions. The Six Day Body Blast is made up of three days of strength training alternated with three days of cardiovascular and abdominal workouts, with one day off each week. The exercises are demonstrated with photographs and written directions. Kaehler advises making five diet modifications that will increase energy levels, control weight, and thwart health problems that menopause can aggravate. A small recipe section is included. Tips for increasing contentment wrap up the book, and an appendix lists Kaehler's favorite web sites and resources. While there are many other books that more deeply cover the facets of the menopausal experience, this book brings the issues of greatest concern together in one believable and personable source. Highly recommended for public and consumer health libraries.

Today, there exists a treatment that removes plaque and restores blood flow throughout the entire arterial system, treating the brain as well as the body vessels. It's called EDTA chelation, available via intravenous and oral supplementation. EDTA treats the brain vessels and prevents a stroke.L Arginine treats the body vessels since it does not cross the blood-brain barrier.
